Alicia went through the FilmStruck application process, a TCM movie streaming platform. Malone made recordings of Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz's openings so that she could practice reading them in front the camera ahead of the TCM channel host audition. She auditioned in 2017 for an Turner Classic Movies presenter position. The network hired Malone on January 1, 2018. Malone has addressed the issues facing women working in film in two separate TEDx talk.
