Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a New Mexican born musician and singer who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's anthems for his adopted state have attracted many people to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado as John Denver." Denver became the initial Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver is today Colorado's international image. If you travel with me, you may meet people at opposite sides of the world. For example someone from New Zealand. And when you tell them you're Colorado-based, Colorado you will get "Oh John Denver!" Brown declared. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief time in folk-based bands included Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the track for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized its potential after hearing it first.
